13 January, Wednesday

  • Orchard Economic Forum

The subjects of the second edition of SFE will be: market, quality, export to distant markets, processing. We invite you to listen to the speeches of experts and take part in the debate. The Orchard Economic Forum will begin with a lecture by prof. Eberhard Makosz from the Society for the Development of Dwarf Orchards about the current situation on the apple market.

  • III Strawberry Conference

The conference consists of two parts: about field crops and crops under cover. Topics include ways to combat grey mold, powdery mildew or anthracnose, the cultivation of early strawberry varieties and the availability of new fruiting varieties within this period. Thanks to growing in greenhouses and choosing varieties, it will soon be possible to provide fruit for 12 months a year. These issues will also be raised during lectures.

  • Exposing vegetables under cover to light

Both scientists and practitioners will speak at the conference, presenting the results of research on seedling production and cultivation in different ways of lightening and changes in the technology of assimilative lighting of plants, and will also characterize the development of lightened crops in Europe.

14 January, Thursday

  • Orchard conference

A topic that particularly focused the attention of fruit farmers in the past season, i.e. drought and the possibilities of protecting crops against it. Luca Lovatti from Tyrol will present new, futuristic sports varieties of Gala and Red Delicious. There will also be topics on fighting spider mites, apple mildew or scab. Kazimierz Pochodyła will talk about the characteristics of fruit-growing in the East. Leonard Steinbauer, from Austria, will present the topic of modern cherry cultivation- a difficult to grow species but more profitable than apple trees. The benefits of having your own apiary in the orchard will be presented by Michał Piątek.

  • Brassica vegetables without secrets

During the conference, invited experts will present the general conditions related to the production of brassica vegetables, production trends and expectations of both the domestic and pan-European market. Everything points to the fact that, with the current trend to a healthy lifestyle, brassica vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflowers and cabbage, will be sought after vegetables among consumers, so it is worth growing them. How to do that best? What to look for?
