Summary of the sixth edition of the TSW 2016 Fruit and Vegetable Market
... i.e. the largest event for fruit and vegetable producers in Poland.
The TSW Horticultural and Vegetable Market Fair was held for the sixth time. For the first time in a new location at the Warsaw Expo in Nadarzyn, just over 20 km from the center of Warsaw.
This year's edition turned out to be record-breaking in every respect. 11 863 people visited us during two exhibition days (entry to the exhibition was registered), 205 exhibitors presented their offer (35% of whom participated in TSW for the first time). Many guests came from abroad: Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, England, France or Turkey. The area of TSW2016 is also larger than in previous years and amounted to nearly 16,000 square meters. This means that TSW has strengthened its position as the largest gardening event in Poland with a comprehensive offer for fruit and vegetable producers.
Important parts of TSW are industry conferences, during which lectures by Polish and foreign specialists, both scientists and practitioners, are held. On Wednesday, January 13, took place: the 3rd Strawberry Conference, the Fruit Garden Economic Forum and a conference on lighting crops under cover. The second day of the fair was a fruit-growing conference, about field vegetables- this time entirely devoted to brassica, and a new species for Polish gardening - Saskatoon. During two days of TSW2016 55 lectures were given. The Sixth Producer Groups Forum was carried out; organized by the National Union of Fruit and Vegetable Producers Groups.
During the ceremonial opening of the TSW 2016, prof. Szczepan A. Pieniążek prizes were awarded for the third time for innovative products for gardening. From year to year, the importance of the award keeps on increasing, 30% more applications have been received and their quality and diversity means that the award jury did not have an easy task.
